CareFlex WaterCell Technology^®

WaterCell Technology™ works by allowing the seat cushion to contour naturally around the occupant´s body, improving comfort and distributing weight over as large a surface area as possible. As a consequence pressure is greatly reduced in those places in which it is normally concentrated (ischial tuberosities, sacrum). With the addition of Reflexion® viscoelastic foam we have further enhanced our innovative technology to deliver an unmatched pressure care system.

At the heart of each chair are a number of water cells. Water cells have many natural benefits; water has no memory and so responds instantly to changes in movement, redistributing pressure. The greater resistance offered by water means that there is less chance of “bottoming out” in the way other cushions can.

At CareFlex we have been designing pressure reducing chairs for over 10 years and we believe that pressure reduction and good postural adjustment should be an integral part of the design process and not added on as this changes the all-important dimensions of the chair.

Seat depth is of primary importance as too short or too long a seat cushion will result in poor posture and weight distribution. Seat width and seat height are of similar importance and a facility to adjust the seat’s width and height is critical to achieving effective pressure reduction.

That is why the new HydroForm® incorporates all these features along with WaterCell Technology™ making it the most versatile pressure-reducing chair on the market.

The CareFlex HydroTilt® range offers WaterCell Technology™ in the backrest of the chair as well as the seat. While many chairs recline or tilt, no other chair offers this feature, despite the fact that when reclined the sensitive lumbar and sacral areas experience noticeable increases in pressure. By offering pressure reduction in the backrest as well as the seat, WaterCell Technology™ ensures tissue integrity - even when tilted.
