19th March 2026
One Session Available:
1.00 pm – 2.00 pm via Teams
We’re delighted to welcome Emma Grover, Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) Professional Development Lead, as our guest speaker – bringing real expertise to support your next steps beyond HCPC CPD Week 2026.
I’m an occupational therapist with a background in Adult Social Care. My love of learning, supervision, and the direct impact of CPD on safe and effective care later inspired me to move into leadership roles focused on practice development, quality assurance, and professional growth. Now, in my current role as the Professional Development Lead at RCOT, I champion a positive culture of continuing professional development (CPD) and lifelong learning. I support occupational therapists to build their CPD skills and confidence – helping them recognise the learning they do every day, record it in ways that meet the HCPC CPD standards, and become confident, reflective practitioners throughout their careers.
During the session, we’ll explore the CPD expectations set by the Health and Care Professions Council and clarify what counts as meaningful CPD in everyday practice. You’ll also hear how membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists can support and strengthen your professional development, alongside practical ways to build sustainable CPD habits and keep occupation central to your work.
We’ll close with a short CareFlex wrap-up on how CPD thinking can be applied to postural care, linking continued learning to comfort, function and engagement.
We’ll cover:
- How to keep CPD purposeful and ongoing
- Simple ways to capture and evidence continued learning
- Making reflection meaningful
- Translating learning into everyday clinical decisions
