Rebecca Dunstall BSc Physiotherapy (Hons)- CareFlex Clinical Specialist

  • Rebecca specialises in learning disabilities and neurology; her passion is complex assessment and postural management.
  • Having grown up with a profoundly disabled younger sister she has genuine empathy and respect for others.
  • She continues to provide Physiotherapy for children and adults with complex health needs on a self-employed basis to ensure she grows her knowledge base and skills, and keeps up-to-date with evidence-based best practice.

“Throughout my career as a Physiotherapist I have worked with adults and children who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities, neurological disorders and mental health conditions, in the NHS and private sector. This has included, but is not limited to, cerebral palsy, dementia, Rett syndrome, Huntington’s disease, autistic spectrum disorders, Parkinson’s disease, personality disorder, Down’s syndrome, acquired brain injury, challenging behaviour, multiple sclerosis, stroke and Prader-Willi syndrome. I have also been fortunate to gain experience within intermediate care and elderly services, and as a Case Manager within occupational health.

My passion, however, has always been postural management; working holistically as part of a multi-disciplinary team to maximise an individual’s abilities.

Not only has my employment history provided me with opportunities to broaden my knowledge base and skills, it has also confirmed my passion for working with people with complex needs to help them reach their potential and improve their quality of life.

As the Clinical Specialist at CareFlex, I facilitate training events and assist healthcare professionals with their clients’ postural and pressure care needs.  Since joining CareFlex I have quickly acquired a true appreciation of CareFlex specialist seating and how it can manage posture as it relates to seating as part of the 24 hour postural management programme. I am dedicated to raising awareness of the vital role of specialist seating.

I can offer you advice regarding seating in general and how a chair from CareFlex might be the correct option for your client.  What it does, how it does it, and why it will make, almost certainly, a life changing difference to the quality of your clients’ lives.

My advice will be impartial and ethical.  I will not recommend a CareFlex chair unless it is appropriate for your clients’ needs.”
