Mild Postural Requirements

Many individuals reach a stage where a standard armchair or rise and recline chair no longer provides adequate support. This may present as forward sliding, lateral leaning, reduced sitting tolerance, or an increased need for repositioning assistance from a caregiver.

The EasiTilt provides a supportive seating solution designed to help individuals maintain a more stable sitting posture while remaining engaged with their surrounding environment.

Unlike traditional recliners, the EasiTilt incorporates Tilt-in-Space functionality and adaptable postural support, allowing the whole chair to tilt while maintaining body alignment and pelvic stability.

The EasiTilt is particularly suitable for individuals who:

  • Spend extended periods sitting during the day
  • Require assistance with positioning or repositioning
  • Benefit from pressure redistribution
  • Need a supportive alternative to a standard recliner chair
  • Live at home with family or formal care support
  • Reside in residential or nursing care settings

The EasiTilt provides enhanced support, stability, and postural positioning for individuals whose seating needs cannot be fully met by standard armchairs or rise and recline chairs. It is suitable for those with:

  • Neurological and neuromuscular conditions
  • Cardiovascular conditions
  • Orthopaedic conditions
  • Age-related frailty
  • Reduced mobility

The EasiTilt’s versatile design makes it suitable for a wide range of care environments where comfort, postural support, and safe mobility are essential, including:

  • Domestic and Home Care: Promotes comfort, independence, and safer transfers for individuals with mobility limitations, while reducing the physical demands on caregivers.
  • Hospital Wards and Rehabilitation Centres: Supports recovery and rehabilitation by enabling effective positioning, improved comfort, and safer patient handling.
  • Nursing and Residential Homes: Provides long-term seating support, pressure management, and stability for residents, helping caregivers deliver consistent daily care.
  • Hospices and Respite Care: Enhances comfort and dignity through effective postural support and pressure care for individuals requiring palliative or short-term care.

FAQs

The EasiTilt is designed for individuals who are beginning to experience difficulty maintaining a stable and functional sitting posture. Clinical indicators may include forward sliding, pelvic instability, lateral leaning, reduced trunk control, fatigue, reduced sitting tolerance or an increased need for repositioning.

It is particularly suited to individuals whose needs have progressed beyond a standard armchair or rise-and-recline chair, but who do not require a highly complex specialist seating system.

Unlike a standard rise-and-recline chair, the EasiTilt includes Tilt-in-Space, adjustable seat width and depth, adaptable back options and a range of postural accessories.

This allows the chair to be configured around the individual’s postural, functional and pressure management requirements, while retaining a familiar appearance suitable for home and care environments.

Tilt-in-Space allows the complete seating system to tilt while maintaining the relationship between the pelvis, trunk and lower limbs. When prescribed and used appropriately, it can support pelvic stability, pressure redistribution, fatigue management and repositioning.

Tilt-in-Space should follow a comprehensive assessment of the individual’s posture, function, pressure risk and tolerance.

The EasiTilt offers adjustable seat width and depth, five back options, an elevating leg rest, an angle-adjustable footplate and removable Transfer-Assist arms.

Further options include lateral supports, kidney pads, headrests, positioning aids, pommels, trays, a channel leg rest and manual or motorised operation. These options allow clinicians to configure the chair according to the individual’s assessed postural and functional requirements.

The EasiTilt includes pressure-redistributing Reflexion® foam as standard. For individuals with increased pressure care requirements, options include WaterCell Technology® and a docking cushion that can accommodate an alternative prescribed pressure-redistributing cushion.

Cushion selection should form part of a holistic assessment and the individual’s wider pressure management plan.
